The
northern section of the Three
Eagle Trail from Sundstein Road
to Highway 32/45 is groomed
for cross country skiing during
the winter season. The groomed Trail includes a
classic track and a “skate” lane.
There are some very gentle slopes
between Sundstain Road and the
Mud Creek Bridge and the rest
of the Trail is flat. What it
may lack in exciting terrain
the Trail makes up for in natural
beauty as it winds through dense
woodlands with occasional views
of wetlands, including a Bridge
over Mud Creek and two scenic
boardwalks. Most of the Trail
is well sheltered from winter
winds.
 The groomed section of
the Trail is about 5 miles
long so, to
go all the way out and back
would be about 10 miles or
16 kilometers. The Trail access on Highway
32/45 is temporarily located
on the south driveway for
the new Clearwater Lake development.
There is limited parking space
between the highway and the
snowmobile trail and you need
to walk or ski about 150 feet
south on the snowmobile trail
to reach the ski trail. The Sundstein Road Trailhead
parking area is available
for parking. Your cash donations at the
Sundstein Road Trailhead donation
box
are appreciated to fund trail
grooming expenses.
